OTTO PRUTSCHER
Bud service, 1935/38

Convex, humped decoration was a favourite motif in Renaissance and Baroque silver. Otto Prutscher regularly studied the history of ornament and translated his models into his own formal language.

Transferring the freely curving line drawn on paper to the hard metal and giving it three-dimensional form today still demands craftsmanship ot the utmost mastery.
