Typical of Aldo Bakker’s handwriting is the organic and swelling that gives the metal a special softness. His favorite objects are vessels with spouts: „A vessel can be brought into connection with itself ... I ask about the relationship between handle, hollow body, beak. This is a very satisfying subject for me.“
The carafe was first presented at Aldo Bakker’s solo exhibition SLOW MOTION in the renowned Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Paris on October 19, 2020.
The carafe is produced in pure 925/000 silver in a limited edition of 8 pieces. In addition, Wiener Silber Manufactur offers a version made of silver-plated alpacca. The company thus ties in with the tradition of the Wiener Werkstätte, which used this material to create a more affordable version.
