Alexandre Echasseriau
Designed 2015

French designer Alexandre Echasseriau designed a bottle cooler for the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2015.
Inspired by his love of the Alps and their climatic phenomena, he created a spectacular silver sculpture in the shape of a mountain massif with three peaks. To use it as a cooling vessel, it is necessary to topple the "ICE-Mountain". The resulting bowl is filled with water, which is left to freeze overnight. Turned upside down, the bowl becomes the Three Peaks Massif again, whose slopes are now covered with a layer of frost. While the chilled bottle rests in the valley, drops and small streams run down the icy rock faces. The meltwater runs into a deepened base plate, gradually creating a small mountain lake around the silvery rocky landscape.
