Otto Prutscher designed what he called his "Travel Service" for the "First Great Austrian Art Exhibition 1947" in Vienna. In formal terms it relates to elegant models from the 1930s: compact forms, oval in plan, integrated lids, highly polished, reflective silver surfaces, which contrast with the volutes of the precious black wood handles. Relaxed details such as silber rivets convey a touch a functionalism.
